Hi, I'm Dave Wood and Scouse-Scot is the home of my illustration archive, shops, illustration and semiotics blog, and video tutorials. I'm Scouse-Scot because I'm a Scouser from Liverpool, and I live in Scotland. I was a freelance illustrator in the 1990s, and I now teach university students illustration and graphic design. I have a PhD in Visual Communication from Edinburgh College of Art (ECA), and I am an design academic, a design researcher in Peircean semiotic theory, and a published author.
This blog is an archive of my commercial illustration work from the 1990s, some of my more recent illustration work, and some projects my illustration students have been engaged in over the last few years. Some of the illustrations are also available for sale via https://scouse-scot.mysupadupa.com/.

This blog will be used as an annotated bibliography for my practice-based PhD at Edinburgh College of Art. To support my research into the literature I will use this blog to comment on my bibliography, entry by entry, accompanied with my notes distilling the main points of relevance to my research inquiry.
It probably won't be a huge interest to others, therefore I am keeping my other blog New Media Bazaar to reflect upon my PhD interactive design research. That blog will be more about my understanding of the theory and practice. This blog will be listing the sources.
